Testimonials

My son has been attending the Kinda Kapers centre at Charlestown for the past 16 months. During this time he has been cared for by Donna and a number of different trainees in addition to Lexi, Susie, Angela and Tamara.

I could not be happier with the care Kinda Kapers have provided especially Donna for her constant feedback and her ability to speak openly and freely about my son’s progress. I am a single parent and this is my first child so it has been a big learning curve for me. It has however been made that much easier by the way Donna (and all of the staff at Kinda Kapers) works with me to establish a consistent environment and discuss different parenting techniques.

I feel that by having good communication between myself and Donna allows us to work together to provide the best possible care and assist in my son’s mental and physical development.

I have always been pleased with the way the different trainees have interacted with each child, but I do feel that Beth has been a step above the rest which warrants my acclamation.

The extra comfort I have knowing that people like Donna and Beth and involved in the day to day care of my son is so relieving. Thank you to everyone at Kinda Kapers for your continued care and support.

Regards

Kris

I want to take this opportunity to commend you and your staff on the very professional service provided at Lake Macquarie Kinda Kapers centre.

This afternoon my wife was driving back from Sydney and was unable to collect our daughter on time. My wife had arranged for me to pick up our daughter. On arriving at the centre I was promptly met by staff who asked to see photo ID (which I had left at home). None of the staff in the centre at the time had met me. So I was told unless I had photo ID, my daughter was staying at the centre. The drive home and back would take about 25 – 30 minutes, which would have put the pick up time after centres closing time of 6.00pm.

Some people would be annoyed by this, I was impressed. It’s good to know that the centre has policies in place on security and knowing your child is safe. Kinda Kapers Lake Macquarie is a centre you should by proud of.

Regards

David

I would like to take this opportunity to thankyou for your time, patience and professionalism in looking after my daughter, it has been very much appreciated. Your centre is a credit to childcare around Newcastle.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank yourself and your staff for what you have done for our daughter in making her year with you a safe environment to be in. For everybody reading this, because we would like it put in your newsletter. Our daughter is anaphylactic to nuts, eggs and shellfish which means, if she comes into contact with these products she could potentially die.
When we began at your centre it was a nervous time as we didn’t know anyone and leaving your allergic child in unfamiliar grounds was very daunting as you soon had to gain trust with people you didn’t know. This trust happened quickly knowing you were a “Nut Free Zone” and when I approached you with our concerns about using egg in your centre as the smell can trigger a reaction, you words to me were “I have a duty of care to make every child safe in this centre and if I have to also stop using eggs to Make your child safe I will do so”. Then the next day a sign was up reading “We are a nut and egg free zone”. You have no idea how we felt reading that sign knowing that you did listen and yes you do care and yes you will make every child safe in this centre.

My daughter goes to kindy next year and what a big step this will be. Yeah its great that the canteen doesn’t sell nut products but believe it or not, they can still bring a peanut butter sandwich into the grounds. Allergies are on the rise especially to nuts and yet the department of education still cannot ban it, although fatalities have already been happening. Think about this though, They can ban mobile phones and they can ban knives as they can be harmful but still a simple peanut butter sandwich can still be entered into the school grounds….Michelle if we could leave our daughter in your centre for all her schooling years trust me we would but unfortunately we can’t.

So a big thankyou to yourself, Di, Janine and all the staff in the Brumbies room for being understanding, approachable, trusting, caring and remaining professional towards having a child in your centre with severe food allergies. A big thankyou also to Rachael for always asking us questions if you were not sure about something and ringing me at work just to double check if it was safe to give to our daughter what was being served.

So to all families that use this centre and any families thinking about coming here, the director and all the staff are very trusting and caring and they will do everything and anything to make sure your child is safe whilst in their care. Kind

Regards

Jo and Brett
