Fees and Payments

A non-refundable equipment levy of $50 per family is to be paid when enrolling. This goes towards programming and equipment costs for children's use. Your child cannot be guaranteed a position until this amount is paid.

On the child’s first day of attendance you are also required to pay a 2-week fee bond along with your first week’s fees. Fees need to be paid every week thereafter.

Visit your Centre's web page for details of the daily fees:

Payments can be made by internet transfer, direct debit, eftpos, or cheque. NO CASH PLEASE.

Overdue Fees

One week in arrears: A reminder note from the office will be sent out.
Two weeks in arrears: A final notice from the Director or Centre Supervisor will be sent out and your child's position may be jeopardised
Any parent whose outstanding fees exceed their current fee bond may have care terminated without notice.

Holidays and Sick Days

Normal fees must still be paid for sick days and occasional days of care as they occur or if your child is absent throughout the year. Normal fees are also charged for Public Holidays, however parents will be offered a make-up day should one be available, in the four weeks following the public holiday.

The Centre normally shuts down for approximately 2 weeks over the Christmas period. Fees are not payable for this shutdown period.

Buying and Selling Days

It is important that you notify the Centre immediately when you are aware that your child will be absent. If we are fully booked, we can sell your day on to parents who want extra days.

If your child’s day is sold your account will be credited for each day sold.

We also allow you to buy days. On days we are fully booked, if we are notified of an absence, we can offer parents extra days.

Attendance

Early Arrivals

Due to our licensing regulations we are not permitted to open the doors before your centre's stated opening hours. Staff arrive at the centre early to set up for the day and will not open the doors before this time.

For the parents/carers who need an earlier opening, our Lake Macquarie service has an early opening of 6.30am. This is charged as an additional fee and must be booked prior to attending.

Late Departures

As part of our licensing regulations we are not allowed to have children on the premises after your centres stated opening hours. If you know you are going to be late please notify the Centre as soon as you can. We do understand that emergencies may occur.

A late fee of $15 will be charged for every 15 minutes or part there of.

Visit your centre's web page for details of their opening hours: Adamstown, Tiral St, Lake Macquarie

Sign in / Sign Out

All parents/carers must sign their child/children in and out of the centre each day together with arrival and departure times and who will be collecting your child. Please sure that their full name is written in along with the collectors full name (first and last name) not (mum or dad). This is a DoCS requirement.

If your child is absent on any day, this will be noted in red in the sign-in book. It is important all absences are signed by a parent next time they attend day care. This is a DoCS requirement.

Authorised Collection of Children

Persons other then parents/carers who are to collect your child from day care must be an Authorised Collector. This means that their name, address and phone numbers must be documented on your child’s enrolment form.

Photo identification of the authorised collector is required before they are permitted to enter the building and collect the child.

Greet Staff

Staff pride themselves on being approachable towards all families. Staff will greet families each morning. It is also important you make contact with and talk to a staff member when dropping off and collecting your child. This is so staff are aware that your child has arrived and who has picked them up.

Centrelink

Child Care Benefit:

All Centres have fee relief for parents. The percentage of subsidy to which you are entitled to is dependent on your GROSS income.

It is now a requirement of “Centrelink” that all children are registered with “Centrelink” as attending this centre. When contacting “Centrelink” they will require the following information:

  • Name of Centre child’s attending
  • Child’s starting date
  • Centre's Customer Reference Number (CRN). Please contact individual services for their CRN information.

It is your responsibility to notify “Centrelink” of your attendance at Kinda Kapers. Full fees will be charged until we are notified by “Centrelink” of your entitlement

Once Centrelink has informed the Centre of your child’s percentage rate, we will convert that percentage into a dollar value and deduct that from your weekly fee.

Full fees will be charged until your CCB percentage has been received at the Centre.

It is your responsibility to notify Centrelink of any changes to your circumstances as soon as possible.

The Child Care Benefit percentage rate changes every year in July.

Child Care Rebate

Child Care Rebate is now made available to those who meet Centrelink criteria as working parents. This means you can claim 50% of your out of pocket child care expenses of up to $4,000 per child each financial year. This rebate is claimed back on annual tax. To be eligible you will need to collect your weekly fee receipts from your child’s pocket each week as proof of fee payments.
